Fun Finds Part III
It has been a little over four months since moving into the new house, and while I have made some great decorating strides it is definitely not finished…always a work in progress!!
You can read Fun Finds Part I and Fun Finds Part II here. I am excited to say that I have carried out a lot of my original design ideas that I had when I first posted about my fun finds.
First up, the entry way table. It was already white, but the paint was chipping off. I painted a few coats of white on it and it looks so much better..minus the dust we have from all the construction around us!!
The Starburst mirror that I got at Goodwill for $9 was spray painted navy and it resides above the bed in the master bedroom.
The dinning room chairs I found in Fredericksburg are finally able to be used. I ordered a table online and lets just say after 4 replacement tops and 2 months later I finally had a dinning room table—ugh!! The upside to getting 4 extra table tops is that I am making them into end tables for the living room!
You saw my coffee bar in my last post. This is one of my favorite spots in the house…I LOVE coffee!!!
The shelf I found at Trade Days is above the coffee cart. I spray painted it ORB and stained the wood. The little tea holder I bought is sitting on the shelf along with some vintage mason jars.
It has been a dream come true having my new house and so exciting turning my fun finds into authentic decorated pieces in my new home.
Hope you enjoyed this Fun Finds series….more to come!!

Making Espresso at Home
I am a huge coffee fan and recently started buying pricy little shots of espresso at the coffee shop. So I decided that maybe I should start making them at home…this is how I did it!
I started by purchasing this little aluminum espresso maker, it was only $3.00! It’s small and only makes one serving of espresso so it is ideal for just one person.
On a trip to the grocery store I picked up some ground espresso, I researched a little and this seems to be a favorite and easy to find in most stores. Although, I would be interested to try any other brands you could suggest.
I just followed the directions on the box of the espresso maker. 1. Fill bottom with water. 2. Fill the coffee holder with the espresso grounds.
3. Attach the top and bottom together and set on the stove on medium high until you hear the gurgling of the coffee making (about 5-8 minutes).
4. Remove from heat and let it set for 2 minutes. While my espresso was on the stove I made a cute little clear storage canister bought from the $store and painted “espresso” on it.
Now that the espresso is made pour yourself a cup and enjoy!!
I put all the items needed for a quick fix in a basket and it will stay on my coffee cart…ready to go!!
Hope you enjoyed this little project it was a fun easy way to get my “fix” without having to go to the pricy coffee shop!!
Any suggestions on different brands of espresso coffee?
