New Inspiration

I created a new board on Pinterest tonight.  Inspired by my growing up in New Mexico, Navajo, and all things enchanting! 

 

I miss living in New Mexico.  When I lived in Dallas, the thing I missed most was seeing the horizon and the sunsets.  So hoping to bring a little New Mexico inspiration into my new décor.

Give a Promise

The Company Store is teaming up again this year with Family Promise during the month of January. Anyone who buys a comforter through 1/31/2013, The Company Store will donate a comforter to a homeless child. 

Even though I don’t want need a new comforter…. I was led to learn more about Family Promise, and I encourage anyone to seek out to learn if there is a program in your community.

On another note, so happy it’s Thursday!! Rock Center is on and I have been missing Mr. Williams the past 2 weeks.. he must be on vacation since he hasn’t been anchoring on NBC Nightly News  (not that I am counting or anything)..I just miss saying “Goodnight Brian”!!

Hope Now

I jumped in my car from running errands after work and I heard this song.  I wanted to find out more about group who sang it so I looked up Addison Road on K-Love.  After reading the group bio and realizing OF course they are from Texas!! I just am always amazed how God places songs, things, people in you life right when you need it, it’s part of his perfect timing that he has for us.

This is where I am in life right now and this song makes it easier to try and make sense:

Happy New Year 2013!

In your name and it’s an honor

Today, twenty-seven years ago I lost my father to a battle of colon cancer.  He was thirty-eight and I was four.

This song always makes me cry.  I know that he is with me everyday and even though he wasn’t physically here, he has helped guide me through life.



This is one of my favorite photos of us at my pre-school computer lab for parents night.  I got to show him all the computer lessons I had learned!  From a very young age I had a love for computers, but I didn’t know the passion I had would turn into my future business BasilBerry Designs.

BasilBerry Designs… "Made with Twins in Mind” started after the birth of my sister’s twins in October 2010 and more recently, I started BasilBerry Designs… “Made with Blogs in Mind” to do custom blog design.

BasilBerry Designs is everything I have dreamed about and worked so hard for. I have so many plans for the future.

I want it to be something that my dad would be proud of because it’s an honor for my business to bare the name after him.  Starting to make blog posts is one goal I have had for the new year and I am excited to share "What's on My Mind".  Hope you join in with me!

Sunshine on a cloudy day

Is it just me or has the first 45 days of 2012 been a bit bleak??  I finished off 2011 feeling optimistic and excited for the new year, but things haven’t unfolded as planned.  I read a post on this blog today and it all makes sense to me.  So today I choose to look beyond the cloudy sky and see all of God’s glory shining on me. Today I will BEGIN....
